Abstract:In this paper, study was made on the distribution of the plastic zone and the vertical stress in the isolated working face by theoretical analysis and numerical simulation, a 8. 0 m-mide coal pillar to be reserved for such face was determined and the distribution of the plastic zone of the roadway surrounding rock in different support scheme was simulated. Based on the combined support scheme using anchor cable, steel strip and grouting and the mine pressure observation data, analysis was carried out on characteristics of ground behaviours of the small coal pillar roadway driving along the gob of the isolated working face, which can provide a certain reference for the surrounding rock control of the roadway driving along the gob of the subsequent isolated face.
