Research on Using Foamed Gel as Coal Mine Fire Prevention Material

Abstract：Foamed gel was develoPed as a new mine fire extinguishing material in order to Prevent and extinguish the coal sPontaneous combustion in the gob of the fully mechanized toP-caving face and the high caving zone of the roadway. A high-exPansion foaming agent with less dosage was screened with Waring-Blender mixing method,two foaming agents were comPounded,the modified alkyl glycoside APG was mixed with dodecyl sulonic sodium SAS by a ratio of 4 ∶ 1 and the concentration of 0. 5% -0. 9% of the foam volume was more than 950 mL. A foam stabilizer with less dosage and long stable time was synthesized,and the half-life time of foam breaking at room temPerature was more than 1 080 min. The chemical inhibition exPeriments showed that the inhibition rate of the foamed gel was 63. 88%,which can effectively slow down the oxidation and heat release rate of coal and suPPress CO release in the Process of coal sPontaneous combustion.
