Abstract:Rock burst is a main dynamic instability disaster of surrounding rock in coal mines. A loading device was designed according to the loading conditions of coal/rock specimen. Experimental study was made on the whole process of the breaking, instability failure and burst of the surrounding rock near the roadway wall by using MTS815. 02 rock mechanics test system and multipoint dynamic data acquisition system. The results showed that the lateral deformation of the coal wall surface gradually increased with the bending of the layer-crack plate and suddenly decreased during coal ejection;the strata stress led to the cracks in the coal body extending along the vertical direction, the layer-crack plates were formed and gradually developed into the coal and rock body;the instability of coal wall included three stages of the layer-crack plate formation, buckling and plate ejection, in which, last two stages just taken a few seconds.
