Abstract:A platinum, palladium and cordierite carrier catalyst with rare earth element coating was prepared, catalytic combustion experiment of this catalyst was carried out with low-concentration methane, and study was made on the conversion rate of methane under different reaction temperature, different volume fraction of methane and different reaction space velocity. The experimental results indicated that under the conditions of the reaction space velocity of 30 000 h-1 and reaction temperature of 450 ℃, the conversion rate of methane was about 68%, which reached the light-off temperature of the catalyst; the conversion rate methane reached 100% at 700 ℃. When the methane volume fraction was 0. 2% ~1. 5%, the conversion rate of methane was over 99%. This catalyst is suitable for catalytic combustion of ventilation air methane.
