Research of Using Girth Ejector for Drill Cuttings Discharge

Abstract：To counter the present situation that the drill cuttings were difficult to be discharged in the downward drilling process, a pneumatic discharge method by using the girth ejector as the pneumatic device was proposed. In this paper, the mechanism of the negative pressure generated by the girth ejector was analyzed and the optimum structure of the girth ejector was determined according to the performance test in the laboratory;through the measurement of the discharging volume of drill cuttings in different inlet and outlet section length of the girth ejector, the maximum discharge distance was determined;the test in 4205E1 air entry in Yutianbao Mine proved that the problem of drill cuttings accumulation in the drilling process was better solved with this technology.
