Abstract:A normal distributed arc-plate demister was developed by optimization design in order to further improve the separation efficiency of water mist in the gas. Fluent 6. 3 Software was employed for the numerical simulation of the two-phase flow of gas and mist in the normal distributed arc-plate demister. By adjusting the parameters, the separation efficiency of the demister in various structural parameters and operating parameters was calculated and the impact of various parameters on the separation efficiency of the demister was analyzed. The research results showed that change of the operating parameters had evident influence on the efficiency of the demister under the condition of the same structural parameters, and in addition, different structural combination modes of vanes suitable for different droplet diameters were further obtained:the mist droplets in 10-20μm can be removed when the length of vane is 150 mm, the turning angle is 60° and the plate spacing is 20 mm;the mist droplets in more than 20 μm can be removed when the length of the vane is 150 mm, the turning angle is 90° and the plate spacing is 30 mm. The above modes are helpful to optimize the structure design of the demister.
