Abstract:To find out the specific location and water abundance of the water-bearing body in front of the excavating roadway can guide the safety in coal mine production and construction. The mine transient electromagnetic method, as a non-contact detection technology, plays an important role in the detection of mine water disasters. This paper systematically described the response characteristics of the transient electromagnetic field and elaborated processing method of full-space computation of apparent resistivity and the time-depth conversion. The mine transient electromagnetic method has been applied in the follow-up advance detection of a limestone roadway in a coal mine in Henan Province, the semicircular observation system was used for the secondary detections, the apparent resistivity in three directions was detected respectively,i. e. in 45o direction above the roadway roof, along the roadway excavation direction and in 45o direction below the roadway floor. The verification by the late drilling showed that the detection results basically tallied with the actual situation and the detection effect was better.
