Applications of POCT in medical rescue aircraft during aeromedical evacuation

Abstract：The medical evacuation aircraft currently equipped by our military have the capability of long-distance, long-duration accurate air transport for medical evacuation, which can quickly respond to the medical evacuation needs of critically injured patients and provide urgent aerial medical care. The medical testing module on board mainly uses point-of-care testing (POCT) technology, which has advantages such as a wide range of test items, diverse methodologies, and high technical integration. Based on the experience accumulated over many years of medical evacuation missions and the tracking analysis of injury distribution patterns in modern wars such as the Russia-Ukraine conflict, this paper summarizes the application of POCT. It is expected to continuously improve the medical care capabilities during air evacuation, thereby reducing the mortality and disability rates caused by battlefield trauma.
