Abstract:Objective To investigate the work stress and psychological resilience of nursing staff supporting the fever clinic and their correlation. Methods A convenience sampling method was used to select 161 nursing staff members from the Eighth Medical Center of the Chinese People's Liberation Army General Hospital who supported the fever clinic from January to September 2023. Questionnaires were conducted using the Nurse Work Stress Scale and the Psychological Resilience Scale. Results The total score of work stress among nursing staff was (88.08±12.12) points, and the total score of psychological resilience was (69.21±13.16) points. There were statistically significant differences in work stress scores among different departments and whether they were only children (F/t=2.190, 2.583, P=0.038, 0.011). There was a statistically significant difference in psychological resilience scores across different educational backgrounds (F=3.978, P=0.021). LSD test results showed that the work stress of nursing staff originally from the gynecology department differed significantly from that of those originally from the operating room and other departments (P=0.030, 0.010). The psychological resilience of nursing staff with an associate degree differed significantly from that of those with a bachelor's degree and postgraduate degrees (P=0.031, 0.043). There was a negative correlation between work stress and psychological resilience (r=-0.266, P<0.05). Conclusion The work stress level of nursing staff supporting the fever clinic is moderate, and their overall psychological resilience is good. The higher the level of psychological resilience, the lower the work stress. It is necessary to pay attention to psychological resilience training for nursing staff to reduce their work stress.
