Abstract:Objective To explore the application effect of nasal cavity non-packing technique in nasal septum deviation correction surgery and perioperative nursing. Methods A retrospective analysis was conducted on the perioperative clinical data of 60 military personnel patients who underwent nasal septum deviation correction surgery at the Department of Otorhinolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery of the Air Force Special Medical Center from October 2023 to January 2024. The 60 patients were randomly divided into a non-packing group and a packing group. The postoperative observation indicators of the two groups were compared, and the surgical effect and perioperative nursing were analyzed. Results There were statistically significant differences in visual analog scale (VAS) scores for nasal congestion, headache, and sleep disturbances between the two groups 6 hours after surgery (Z=-4.929, -3.418, -2.806, P<0.001, =0.001, 0.005). There were also statistically significant differences in VAS scores for nasal congestion, headache, tearing, and sleep difficulties between the two groups 24 hours after surgery (Z=-6.022 to -2.314, all P<0.05). Conclusion The nasal cavity non-packing technique has a significant effect in nasal septum deviation surgery for military patients, which can alleviate postoperative discomfort such as pain in various parts of the head and face, reduce the occurrence of complications, improve patient experience, and enhance nursing satisfaction.
