Abstract:The high intensity of modern warfare places higher demands on the cognitive abilities of military personnel. Dietary nutrition plays an important role in maintaining cognitive function, among which micronutrients and phytochemicals have shown good effects in treating cognitive dysfunction and maintaining cognitive health. However, military personnel's daily diets often suffer from insufficient intake of certain micronutrients and phytochemicals. This paper reviews the bioactive effects of micronutrients and phytochemicals in improving cognitive dysfunction and maintaining cognitive function, systematically summarizing the neuroprotective functions and roles in improving cognitive ability of vitamins (vitamin A, B-complex vitamins, vitamin C, vitamin D, and vitamin E), trace minerals (iron, iodine, manganese, zinc, and selenium), and natural phytochemicals. The aim is to provide a theoretical basis for dietary nutritional supplementation programs to maintain the cognitive function of military personnel, helping them better adapt to complex and changing combat environments.
