Abstract:Objective To investigate the clinical effect of Yaobitong capsules on prolapse of the lumbar intervertebral disc and its effect on IL-6 and IL-8.Methods One hundred and forty-four patients with prolapse of the lumbar intervertebral disc treated in our hospital between October 2014 and June 2017 were selected as subjects and randomly and evenly divided into two groups. All the patients were treated with lumbar traction and massage therapy. The conventional group was given loxoprofen sodium capsules while the study group was given Yaobitong capsules. The intensity of pain and levels of interleukin-6(IL-6)and interleukin-8(IL-8)were compared between the two groups before and after treatment. Results The VAS score of the study group was significantly lower than that of the conventional group, and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).The levels of IL-6 and IL-8 in the study group were significantly lower than those in the conventional group(P<0.05).The total effective rate was 90.3% in the study group, which was significantly higher than 76.4% in the conventional group,so the difference was statistically significant(χ2=6.961,P<0.05).The incidence of adverse reactions in the study group was 1.4%,which was significantly lower han 12.5% in the conventional group,so the difference was statistically significant(χ2=9.526,P<0.05).Conclusion Yaobitong capsules are effective for prolapse of the lumbar intervertebral disc. They can effectively alleviate the pain of patients. The anti-inflammatory effect is clear with fewer adverse reactions.
