Abstract:Objective To explore changes of uric acid, triglyceride and low density lipoprotein levels among patients with acute ischemic stroke. Methods One hundred and thirty patients diagnosed with acute ischemic stroke were selected as the study group, while another 130 healthy people served as the control group. Levels of serum uric acid, triglyceride and low density lipoprotein in the two groups were detected and compared. The age, sex, BMI, genetic factors, history of hypertension, coronary heart disease and diabetes, history of smoking and alcohol-drinking of all the participants were statistically analyzed. Single factor and multi-factor logistic regression analysis was conducted to explore the factors which influenced the development of acute ischemic stroke. Results The levels of serumuric acid, triglyceride and low density lipoprotein of the study group were all obviously higher than those of the control group. Significant difference was observed (P<0.05). Age, sex, geneticfactors, history of hypertension, coronary heart disease, smoking and alcohol-drinking could account for the dependent variables, while hypertension, uricacid, triglyceride and low density lipoprotein were independent risk factors for acute ischemic stroke. Conclusion The incidence of ischemic stroke is related to the elevated levels of serum uric acid, triglyceride and low density lipoprotein.
