Abstract:Objective To observe and analyze the clinical efficacy of Kang'ai injection combined with docetaxel and prednisone in the treatment of hormone refractory prostate cancer complicated with bone metastasis. Methods Sixty-four cases of hormone resistant prostate cancer complicated with bone metastasis treated in our hospital were equally divided into the study group and the control group according to treatment methods. Patients in the control group were treated with docetaxel and prednisone while those in the study group were additionally given Kang'ai injection. The clinical data of the two groups of patients was retrospectively analyzed and the clinical efficacy and adverse reactions of the two groups were observed. Results The total effective rate of the study group was significantly higher than that of the control group (P<0.05), so was the total effective rate of pain relief (P<0.05). After treatment, bone metastasis lesions in the study group were reduced in seven cases, and metastasis in fourteen cases was significantly reduced or became shallower, with a total effective rate of 65.63%. In the control group, bone metastasis subsided in two cases, metastasis was significantly reduced or became shallower in seven cases, and liver metastasis occurred in two cases at the same time the, total effective rate was 34.38%. The total effective rate of shrinking tumor diameters in the study group was significantly higher than that in the control group (P<0.05). The incidence of adverse reactions such as myelosuppression, gastrointestinal reactions and abnormal liver and kidney function in the study group was lower than that in the control group (P<0.05). The incidence of adverse reactions such as peripheral nerve paralysis and drowsiness in the study group was higher than that in the control group (P<0.05). Conclusion Kang'ai injection combined with docetaxel and prednisone in the treatment of bone metastatic hormone refractory prostate cancer has good curative effect, and the toxicity can be tolerated. Kang'ai injection can obviously improve the immunity of patients, reduce the incidence of bone pain and bone related events and improve the patients' survival.
