Abstract:Objective To investigate the effect of early morning blood pressure control among hypertensive patients whose blood pressure was normal in consulting rooms, and analyze the reasons. Methods Forty cases of patients diagnosed with hypertension were selected. Early morning blood pressure monitoring was requested when their blood pressure returned to normal after treatment. The standard rate of early morning blood pressure was calculated. The causes of lower standard rates of early morning blood pressure were analyzed if they were different from those in consulting rooms. Results Hypertensive patients with normal blood pressure in consulting rooms failed to exercise effective control over their early morning blood pressure [systolic pressure(131.10±4.50)mmHg vs(135.00±8.56), t=1.92, P<0.05;diastolic pressure(78.35±4.24)mmHg vs(8.177±9.34), t=2.349, P<0.05]. The compliance rate of early morning blood pressure was lower than in the other group(55% vs 100%, χ2= 5.474, P<0.05). Ineffective early morning blood pressure control might have been associated with the patients' gender、age, obesity(BMI>24 kg/m2)(55.6%), lack of exercise (66.7%), taking short acting antihypertensive drugs(27.8%)and sleep apnea syndrome(16.7%). Conclusion The early morning blood pressure control rate is not satisfactory, so it is necessary to strengthen the early morning blood pressure management in order to prevent cardiovascular diseases.
