Abstract:Objective To investigate the correlation between cognitive impairment and plasma macrophage migration inhibitory factor(MIF), homocysteine(Hcy)and high sensitivity C reactive protein(hs-CRP)in patients with lacunar infarction. Methods Fifty-nine patients with lacunar cerebral infarction admitted in our hospital from January December in 2015 were divided into two groups:cognitive function group and cognitive dysfunction group according to the patients' cognitive impairment. The levels of MIF, Hcy and hs-CRP in plasma were compared and the correlation between the cavity and cognitive impairment was analyzed. Results The levels of MIF, Hcy, hs-CRP and MoCA in patients with different cognitive impairment were significantly different(P<0.05). The results of univariate analysis showed that the levels of Hcy, hs-CRP and MoCA were increased gradually with the increase of cognitive dysfunction(P<0.05). The results of univariate analysis showed that the difference among age, combined hypertension, diabetes mellitus, MIF and Hcy, Hs-CRP was statistically significant. Further multivariate logistic regression analysis showed that hypertension, diabetes mellitus, MIF≥90 ng / ml, Hcy>10 μmol / L, hs-CRP≥10 mg / L were the most common cause of lacunar infarction Independent risk factors for cognitive impairment(P<0.001). Conclusions The levels of plasma MIF, Hcy and hs-CRP are the risk factors of risk factors of cognitive impairment in patients with lacunar infarction. Early detection of plasma MIF, Hcy and hs-CRP levels can effectively prevent cognitive impairment and improve prognosis.
