Abstract:Objective To investigate the etiological factors of and precautions against cricoarytenoid joint dislocation after endotracheal cannulation and extubation in general anaesthesia patients. Methods The clinical data on three cases of cricoarytenoid joint dislocation after endotracheal intubation treated between January 2015 and December 2016 was summarized. The causes of dislocation were analyzed retrospectively. Results All three the postoperative patients extubated in the ICU had the right front dislocation, whose reposition surgeries were completed within three weeks. The causes of dislocation were probably associated with the timing of extubation, standing position of doctors during extubation, site and pressure of balloons and placement of stomach tubes. Conclusion An intimate knowledge of the possible causes of cricoarytenoid joint dislocation is conducive to precautions and treatment.
