Prevention of medical disputes and perfecting mechanisms of social support

Abstract：Objective To analyze the causes of frequent medical disputes in hospitals and to explore strategies to prevent and solve medical disputes. Methods The status quo and causes of medical disputes in recent years were analyzed with reference to related literature, and possible ways to prevent and solve medical disputes were proposed. Results Medical disputes could be effectively prevented or settled by formulating rules and regulations, strengthening doctor-patient communication, improving hospital management and perfecting the mechanism of social support. Conclusion Concerted efforts by doctors, patients and institutions are required to prevent and solve medical disputes, and the social supporting mechanism can play an important role, which needs to be enhanced as soon as possible.
