Abstract:Objective To explore the influence of lower extremity deep venous thrombosis(LEDVT) on the performance of a military pilot and evaluation principles of aeromedicine. Methods By analyzing the process of diagnosis and treatment, prognosis and medical evaluation of one military pilot with LEDVT, we summarized the experience and lessons, and reviewed the related literature. Results The "right calf discomfort" of the pilot was diagnosed as soft tissue infection of the right leg at first, but the final diagnosis was LEDVT after ruling out the possibility of various genetic and acquired diseases. The related auxiliary examination indexes improved and the symptoms were alleviated significantly through the anticoagulation therapy. Conclusion Early discovery and treatment of LEDVT is of great significance for military pilots. We recommend personalized assessment according to specific conditions.
