Abstract:Objective To investigate the effect of pregnancy complicated with subclinical hypothyroidism on pregnancy outcomes and perinatal outcomes. Methods 122 pregnant women with subclinical hypothyroidism who were admitted to our hospital between November 2013 and December 2014 were selected as the observation group, while another 140 pregnant women without subclinical hypothyroidism were selected as the control group. The levels of thyroid hormones were measured by chemiluminescence immunoassay. Thyroid hormone levels, adverse pregnancy outcomes and perinatal adverse outcomes were compared between the two groups. Results ①No significant difference was detected in FT3 and FT4 levels between the observation group and control group (P>0.05). The TSH level of the observation group was significantly higher than that of the control group (P<0.001). ②The incidence of premature rupture of membranes, macrosomia, preeclampsia, induction of labor, fetal distress, fetal growth restriction, postpartum anemia and preterm birth in the observation group were significantly higher than those in the control group (P<0.05). The total incidence of adverse pregnancy outcomes in the observation group was higher than that in the control group (P<0.001). ③Apgar score, birth weight and gestational age were significantly lower in the observation group than those in the control group (P<0.001). Conclusion The incidence of adverse pregnancy outcomes and perinatal adverse outcomes in pregnant women with subclinical hypothyroidism is relatively high. It is recommended that thyroid function screening should be carried out during early pregnancy and that clinical treatment should be sought in time.
