Abstract:Objective To observe the change of serum cardiac biomarkers under moderate and high levels of +Gz exposure, and explore if a moderate and high level of +Gz exposure can cause myocardial injury. Methods Forty-one subjects were divided into Group A (n=11), Group B (n=18) and Group C (n=12) for human centrifuge training. The profile of the centrifuge +Gz exposure was trapezoidal, in which the highest +Gz exposure level was +6.5 Gz /45 s for Group A, +8 G/10 s for Group B and +9 G/10 s for Group C respectively at an onset rate of 3 G/s. Changes of serum cardiac biomarkers (CK, CK-MB, Mb, cTnI, H-FABP, GPBB) were observed after +Gz exposure in these subjects. Results Concentrations of serum CK, CK-MB, Mb, H-FABP and GPBB were significantly increased in the three groups after +Gz exposure (P<0.05), and the concentration of serum CK was beyond the normal range. There was no significant difference in the changes of serum CK, Mb, H-FABP or GPBB concentrations between the three groups after +Gz exposure (P>0.05), but the change of CK-MB concentration in Group C was the most significant (F=4.97, P<0.05). The troponin I (cTnI) concentration remained normal before and after centrifuge training. Conclusion With the protection of effective anti-G measures, moderate and high levels of +Gz exposure may induce changes in the way energy is metabolized in myocardial cells, increase cell membrane penetrability, but does not cause irreversible myocardial injury.
