Abstract:Objective To study the expressions of survivin, PTEN and EGFR in hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) and their clinical significance. Methods Fifty patients (confirmed by surgical pathology) who underwent surgical resection between February 2013 and February 2015 were selected as the observation group. Thirty-five of them were confirmed as having non-cancerous tissues by histopathological examination and served as the control group. The expressions of survivin, PTEN and EGFR in bothl groups were detected by immunohistochemical staining. Results The positive rates of Survivin in the observation group and the control group were 72.0% and 5.7% respectively while the positive rates of PITE were 52.0% and 94.2% respectively. The positive rates of EGFR in the observation group and control group were 74.0% and 17.1% respectively. The positive expression of survivin was closely related to the TNM stage (P<0.05). The positive rate of EGFR was correlated with the recurrence, clinical stage and pathological stage in 2 years after operation (P<0.05). PTEN positive conditions were related to preoperative lesion metastasis. There was a close correlation between recurrence and TNM stage (P<0.05). The COX multivariate analysis showed that TNM stage, EGFR and survivin expression were prognostic factors of HCC.Conclusion Survivin, PTEN and EGFR are highly expressed in patients with HCC. EGFR and survivin can serve as prognostic factors for HCC.
