Microsurgical treatment of distal anterior cerebral artery aneurysms by trans-longitudinal fissure approach

Abstract:ObjectiveTo investigate the curative effect of microsurgery via the longitudinal fissure approach on distal anterior cerebral artery aneurysms and discuss the surgery approaches.MethodsThe clinical data of thirteen patients with distal anterior cerebral artery aneurysms who underwent microsurgery via the longitudinal fissure approach in our department during January 2004 and January 2012 were retrospectively analyzed.ResultsAll the aneurysms were clipped. 12 patients showed favorable recovery. One patient was hemipatesis, and recovered after six months.ConclusionThe application of the longitudinal fissure approach in the microsurgery for distal anterior cerebral artery aneurysms has satisfactory clinical effect, and is primary approach for the surgery.
