Abstract:Ojective To study the expression of three terminal differentiation protein in acute lesions of atopic dermatitis(AD)children in order to explore the mechanism of AD. Methods Punch biopsies were collected from acute lesions of AD (moderate or severe)children and normal healthy skin. The expression of filaggrin(FLG), involucrin (INV) and loricrin(LOR)were investigated by immunohistochemistry. Results The staining intensity of three protein decreased in acute lesional skin of AD subjects was found. Mean optical density(mOD, integral optical density(iOD)significantly decreased in involved AD skin as compared to skin with normal subjects(P<0.05). Conclusion The abnormal expression of three terminal differentiation protein induced skin barrier dysfunction, which may play an important role in the pathogenesis of AD.
