Abstract:ObjectiveTo detect the expression of H1R and H2R in epidermis of psoriasis vulgaris with pruritus and to investigate the role of two histamine receptors in the pathogenesis of psoriasis and its pruritus. MethodsImmunohistochemistry was carried out to detect the expression of H1R and H2R in lesional tissue, non-lesional tissue and normal skin tissue. The CMIAS image analysis system was used to perform semi-quantitative analysis.ResultsThe expression of H1R and H2R in lesional tissue was significantly higher than difference between non-lesional tissue and normal skin tissue (P>0.05).ConclusionThe expressions of H1R and H2R were up-regulated in lesions of pruritic patients with psoriasis. It suggested that they might be involved in the pathogenesis of psoriasis and its pruritus.
