Abstract:ObjectiveWe attempted to study the significance of DNA ploidy analysis in gastric carcinoma diagnosis and itsprognosis appraisal.MethodsDNA ploidy of tumor tissue and the tumor peripheral tissue of 138 patients with gastric carcinoma was analyzed by automatic image cytomery, and analyzed its relationship to clinical pathology characteristics.ResultsThe coincidence of DNA ploidy analysis with pathological result was 92.0 %(254/276), The normal tissues with aneuploid had high risk of cance ration. The incidence of DNA aneuploid wasn’t related to sex, age, tumor size or invasion depth; but to differentiation degree and the lymph node metastasis in the gastric carcinoma. The incidence of DNA aneuploid in high differentiated tumor is lower than that in middle and low differentiated tumor(P<0.05). The incidence of DNA aneuploid in tumor with lymph node metastasis was higher than that in tumor without lymph node metastasis (P<0.01).ConclusionsDNA ploidy analysis may be taken as an indication for gastric carcinoma screening and the early diagnosis important target, and as an auxiliary method of the pathological diagnosis. DNA aneuploid has close correlation with biologic characteristics of gastric carcinoma, which is available to patient's prognosis judgment and curative effect observation.
