Abstract:ObjectiveWe attempted to explore long-term effects of simultaneous pancreatic-kidney transplantation(SPK) and treatment of its complications.МethodsWe followed up a case of SPK for 14 years. ResultsNow the patient is alive, thouth she is suffering from many complications of the operation and diabetes mellitus.ConclusionAt present there is no doubt that SPK should be the treatment choice for uremic patients with insulin-dependent diabetes mellitus, which can prolong patients’ life spans and improve their qualities of life.
