The clinical features of young and middle-aged hypertension patients in army

Abstract: Objective We aimed to investigate the clinical features of young and middle-aged hypertension patients in the army. Methods 359 young and middle-aged servicemen were selected, who were divided into hypertension group (n=179) and control group (n=180). The data of the two groups was collected and compared. Results Compared with the control group, hypertension group had high proportion of high BMI, smoking, drinking and other bad living habits. After 3 months of treatment, 97.2% of patients in the hypertension group had their blood pressure lowed to normal level. Conclusion Obesity and unhealthy living habits are risky factor of hypertension in the young and middle-aged servicemen. However, hypertension could be effectively controlled with systemic treatment.
