Comparing study on injection of complex mannitol in carotid artery for carotid artery territory cerebral infarction in recovering period
Abstract:Objective To investigate the safety and efficacy of the injection of complex mannitol in carotid artery for carotid artery territory cerebral infarction in recovering period. Methods 947 patients with cerebral infarction in recovering period were divided into two groups: Control group (492 patients) and complex mannitol group (455 patients). In control group, general therapy was administered. In complex mannitol group the injection of complex mannitol in carotid artery was administered additionally for 3~5 times. European Stroke Scale evaluation on the effect of clinical neurotic disfunction between baseline and a year later were made in the two groups. At same time, the extent of the swelling limb and blood stream in the carotid artery were observed. Result A comparison complex mannitol group and control group showed significant difference. The therapy in complex mannitol group was superior to that in the control group. Evaluation on the blood streams state between baseline and a year later were made in both groups, and it showed no significant difference. Conclusions The results suggested that the injection of complex mannitol in carotid artery for carotid artery territory cerebral infarction in recovering period might be effective and safe.
