Lateral idiopathic abnormal of vestibular function and ae rospace flight
Abstract:Objective To probe the relations between lateral idiopathicabnormal of vestibular function and flight in aviation or space. Method Case studies of lateral idiopathic abnormal of vestibula r function were made in 30 pilots. Result 28 cases were canal paresis (right=19, left=9) and 2 cases were loss of vestibular function (left=2 ), 11 cases were still in a qualified position to continue their flying job and 19 cases were permanently grounded. Conclusion Lateral idiopat hic abnormal of vestibular function may hazard the flying in aviation or space for flight illusion and /or response of motion sickness, meanwhile the flying in aviation or space may lead to and/or aggravate vestibular function.
