Abstract:Patent Foramen Ovale(PFO)refers to the failure of the foramen ovale to close naturally after birth,resulting in an abnormal passage between the right and left atria.PFO is a common condition in children.Most cases present without noticeable symptoms,but some may experience unexplained syncope.Syncope is a frequent symptom in pediatrics with complex pathogenesis involving multiple factors,such as cardiovascular and neurological systems.This article explores the clinical features and research advances regarding unexplained syncope caused by PFO in children.
