Analysis of the Current Situation and Intervention of Meaningless Anxiety in Elderly Patients with Lung Cancer

Abstract:Objective To understand the current situation of meaningless anxiety in elderly patients with lung cancer and analyze its influencing factors,and to explore the application effect of positive psychological intervention based on the Positive Emotion,Engagement,Relationships,Meaning,and Accomplishment(PERMA)model on meaningless anxiety in elderly patients with lung cancer.Methods The self-compiled general situation questionnaire,the existential meaningless anxiety scale,the perceived social support scale and the personal sense of control scale were used to analyze the influencing factors of 321 elderly lung cancer patients in Jinzhou City.80 patients with a high level of meaningless anxiety were selected for positive psychological intervention,and the levels of meaningless anxiety in the patients before and after the intervention were compared.Results The score of meaningless anxiety in elderly patients with lung cancer was(57.27±14.07)points.The pathological stage of lung cancer,the frequency of visits,sleep conditions,perceived social support,and personal sense of control were the main influencing factors for the existence of meaningless anxiety.After the intervention,the level of meaningless anxiety in the patients decreased significantly(all P<0.05).Conclusion The meaningless anxiety of elderly patients with lung cancer is at a medium level.Giving positive psychological intervention to elderly patients with lung cancer can significantly reduce the level of meaningless anxiety of the patients.
