Abstract:Objective To investigate the effects of cognitive behavioral therapy(CBT)on the level of hope, sleep quality, cognitive ability, and psychological state of patients who have undergone coronary artery bypass grafting(CABG).Methods 400 patients with coronary heart disease admitted to the cardiac surgery department of our hospital from September 2022 to March 2024 were selected as the research subjects. They were randomly divided into the control group and the observation group, with 200 patients in each group. The control group received routine nursing care, and the analysis group received CBT treatment in addition to the routine care. The herth hope index(HHI),pittsburgh sleep quality index(PSQI),mini-mental state examination(MMSE),self-rating anxiety scale(SAS),and self-rating depression scale(SDS)were used to evaluate the patients' level of hope, sleep quality, cognitive ability, and psychological state. Results After intervention, both groups of patients showed an increase in positive attitude, intimacy, and positive action scores, and the observation group was significantly higher than the control group(P<0.05).The observation group had significantly lower scores in sleep quality, daytime impairment, sleep disorders, falling asleep time, sleep efficiency, sedative medication, and total sleep time than the control group(P<0.05).Both groups showed an increase in MMSE scores, and the observation group was significantly higher than the control group(P<0.05).Both groups showed a decrease in SDS and SAS scores, and the observation group was significantly lower than the control group(P<0.05).Conclusion Cognitive behavioral therapy has a positive promotion effect on the recovery of patients who have undergone CABG,and it helps alleviate the negative emotions such as anxiety and depression, raise the level of hope, and improve sleep quality and cognitive ability.
