Abstract:Objective To quantitatively analyze the changes in choroidal microcirculation before and after intravitreal injection of ranibizumab for the treatment of pathological myopia choroidal neovascularization using OCTA,and evaluate the effects of anti-VEGF intravitreal injection on BCVA,retinal microcirculation, and perfusion in pathological myopia choroidal neovascularization. Methods The study included 54 patients who underwent anti-VEGF intravitreal drug injection for choroidal neovascularization due to rational myopia between 2021 and 2023.A retrospective study was conducted over a period of 3 years in the ophthalmology department of the Third Affiliated Hospital of Jinzhou Medical University. Results This study selected 54 patients who visited the Ophthalmology Department of the Third Affiliated Hospital of Jinzhou Medical University due to choroidal neovascularization caused by pathological myopia and received intravitreal injection treatment(ranibizumab injection)from July 2022 to July 2024.Among them, there were 20 males(7 right eyes and 13 left eyes),and 34 females(14 right eyes and 20 left eyes). All patients received the basic three-dose anti-VEGF(ranibizumab injection)intravitreal injection treatment.A 3-year retrospective study was conducted, with the pre-treatment status of each patient as the control group and the post-treatment status as the observation group. Conclusion Anti-VEGF therapy for pathological myopia choroidal neovascularization is safe and effective, and can effectively shrink choroidal neovascularization. The first anti-VEGF treatment has the highest sensitivity and the best efficacy, with a significant increase in BCVA and a significant decrease in vascular density one month after surgery.However,anti-VEGF therapy cannot increase choroidal perfusion, which gradually decreases with the progression of the disease, which is related to the development of pathological myopia.
