Abstract:Objective A retrospective comparative analysis was conducted on the clinical efficacy of Multiloc intramedullary needle and PHILOS plate in the treatment of fractures with Neer classification of second, third, and fourth parts. Methods A retrospective analysis was conducted on the case data of 29 cases of proximal humeral fractures admitted to the Department of Orthopedics of the First Affiliated Hospital of Jinzhou Medical University from September 2020 to May 2022.Among them,16 cases were treated with Multiloc intramedullary needle and 13 cases were treated with PHILOS plate. The clinical efficacy was analyzed by comparing the operation time, incision length, intraoperative blood loss, healing condition, occurrence of postoperative complications and Constant-Murley shoulder joint function score of the two groups. Results All 29 patients were followed up until 12 months after the operation.Compared with the steel plate group, the intramedullary nail group had certain advantages in terms of operation time, incision length and intraoperative blood loss, and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).The incidence of postoperative complications in the intramedullary nail group was lower than that in the steel plate group, but the difference was not statistically significant(P>0.05).There was no significant difference in the Constant-Murley shoulder joint function scores between the two groups, and the difference was not statistically significant(P>0.05).Conclusion Both Multiloc intramedullary needle and PHILOS plate can achieve good therapeutic effects in the treatment of proximal humeral fractures. However, the operation time of Multiloc intramedullary needle is relatively shorter and the surgical trauma is smaller.
