Abstract:Objective To observe the effect of inserting traditional Chinese medicine suppositories into the anus on wound edema and inflammatory state after ligation of the superior anal mucosa in patients with mixed hemorrhoids. Methods A total of 100 patients with mixed hemorrhoids were selected from February 2022 to January 2024.In order to ensure the scientific and fair nature of the study, the 100 patients were randomly divided into two groups, namely the control group and the observation group, and each group contained 50 patients. The control group will receive the usual treatment regimen, while the observation group will add a specific intervention to the usual treatment to compare the treatment effect and rehabilitation of the two groups. In addition to conventional hemostasis and antibiotic therapy, the control group used traditional Chinese medicine fumigation for postoperative treatment, and the observation group was treated in the control group. The surgical index and wound healing time of the two groups were observed, compared the wound edema and anal bleeding on days 1,day 17 and day 14 after the surgery, compared the inflammatory status of the two groups, and recorded the recurrence at 6 months after the operation. Results There was no significant difference in the operation time and the amount of blood loss between the two groups(P>0.05),indicating that the performance of the two groups in the two indicators was basically comparable, with no obvious difference. However,in the comparison of wound healing time, the observation group performed significantly better than the control group, and the wound healing time was significantly shorter, statistically significant(P<0.05),showing the obvious advantage of the observation group in wound healing. The distribution of wound edema between the two groups(U=0.032,P=0.974).During the observation period on days 7 and 14 after the operation, the number of patients in the study group was significantly higher than the wound edema in the control group, showing the positive effect of treatment in reducing postoperative edema(U=2.139,2.158,P=0.032 and 0.031).There was no significant difference in the distribution of anal bleeding between the two groups on the postoperative day 1(U=0.036,P=0.971),and the distribution of patients with anal bleeding I in the observation group on the postoperative day 7 and 14 was higher than that in the control group. The difference was significant(U=2.005,2.068,P=0.045 and 0.039).On the first postoperative day,the inflammatory status of the two groups showed no statistically significant differences(P>0.05),indicating that the degree of inflammatory response between the two groups was basically comparable and there was no significant difference. However,on the 14th postoperative day,the inflammation index of the observation group was significantly lower compared with that of the control group. This change was tested statistically, and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05),indicating that the recovery of inflammation in the observation group was significantly better than that of the control group. In addition, the difference between the occurrence of adverse reactions and the recurrence rate of 6 months after surgery, the difference was not statistically significant(P>0.05),indicating that the performance of the two groups was comparable with no significant difference. Conclusion Inserting traditional Chinese medicine suppositories into the anus can significantly improve the wound edema, anal bleeding situation, and inflammatory state of patients with mixed hemorrhoids after ligation of the superior anal mucosa.
