Abstract:Objective To study the effect of Mindfulness-based Stress Reduction(MBSR)optimization on occupational stress of ICU nurses. Methods 200 ICU nurses were randomly selected from 26 Class A tertiary hospitals in Liaoning Province as the re-search objects.First, the Chinese Perceived Stress Scale(CPSS),Index of Well-being Scale(IWB),Self-Rating Anxiety Scale(SAS)and Self-Rating Depression Scale(SDS)were used to assess the mental and physical health of ICU nurses under normal working conditions. Then the subjects were intervened with MBSR optimization method for eight weeks to observe the effect of the inter-vention.The physical and mental health of ICU nurses was evaluated again 3 months after the intervention, and the maintenance of the intervention effect was analyzed. Results Before the intervention, the CPSS score of ICU nurses showed that most nurses felt high work pressure, the IWB score showed that the happiness index was low,the SAS and SDS scores showed that most people had mild anxiety and depression, and a few had moderate or severe depression. After intervention with MBSR optimization method,CPSS score decreased significantly(t=2.315,P<0.05),IWB score increased significantly(t=1.784,P<0.013),and SAS and SDS scores decreased significantly(t=1.337,P<0.05;t=2.119,P<0.05).Three months after the intervention, the scores of CPSS,IWB,SAS and SDS had no significant changes compared with those after the intervention(t=3.147,2.287,2.57,3.284,P>0.05).Conclusion MBSR optimization method can reduce the work pressure of ICU nurses for a long time, improve the well-being index, alleviate anxiety and depression, and then improve their physical and mental health.
