Abstract:Objective To explore the relationship between serum amyloid A and type 2 diabetes mellitus complicated with stenosis of internal carotid artery, and analyze whether it can be used as an early predictor of T2DM complicated with the internal carotid artery stenosis. Methods 60 male patients aged 50~60 years were selected as the research objects with type 2 diabetes mellitus complicated with stenosis of internal carotid artery.Cervical vascular ultrasound was performed in the selected patients (referred to as the carotid color),according to the blood flow velocity measured by the carotid color, the carotid artery stenosis was divided into mild group (group A), moderate group (group B) and severe group (group C) with 20 cases in each group. The differences in the patients of the three groups were compared in terms of age, body mass index (BMI), fasting blood glucose (FBG), glycosylated hemoglobin (HbA1c), blood lipid, serum amyloid A (SAA), and homocysteine (HCY).Results (1)The triglyceride (TG), serum cholesterol (TC), low density lipoprotein (LDL-c), blood glucose (FBG), and glycosylated hemoglobin (HbA1c) in group C were higher than those in group B (P<0.05), with statistically significant differences.(2) Homocysteine (HCY) of the three group patients was compared, and the HCY in group A was significantly lower than that in group B (P<0.01), and the HCY in group B was lower than that in group C (P<0.01), with statistically significant differences.(3) Serum amyloid A(SAA)of the three group patients was compared, and SAA in group A was significantly lower than that in group B (P<0.01), and the SAA in group B was lower than that in group C (P<0.01), with statistically significant differences. Conclusions Serum amyloid A increases with aggravation of vascular lesions in the process of type 2 diabetes mellitus complicated with stenosis of internal carotid artery, indicating that it is of great significance in the early screening of vascular lesions.
