Abstract:Objective To analyze the accuracy of ultrasound diagnosis of umbilical cord blood and reasons of misdiagnosis and missed diagnosis. Methods 25 cases of umbilical cord blood vessels in our hospital from June 2012 to June 2016 were retrospectively analyzed. All patients were examined by prenatal ultrasound. Results Among the 25 cases of preposed umbilical cord blood vessels, there were 5 cases of missed diagnosis and 3 cases of misdiagnosis. The blur display of intracervical mouth as gestational age, less amniotic fluid, skull acoustic shadow effect caused the missed diagnosis. The presentation of umbilical cord, umbilical cord prolapse and the expansion of blood vessels on the lower uterine segment were misdiagnosed as preposed blood vessels. There were 16 cases of velamentous insertion of umbilical cord,6 cases of accessory placenta,2 cases of double placenta, and 1 case of umbilical cord and placenta edge attachment. In the result of the childbirth,8 cases were premature infants,15 cases were full-term infants, and 2 cases were induced abortion. Conclusion It is necessary to strengthen the importance of prenatal ultrasound examination and the identification of preposed umbilical cord blood vessels and presentation of the umbilical cord,so as to reduce the incidence of missed diagnosis and misdiagnosis.
