Abstract:Objective To investigate the risk factors of carotid atherosclerotic plaque and their effects on ischemic cerebrovascular disease. Methods 156 patients with ischemic cerebrovascular were selected as experiment group and 160 patients with non-ischemic cerebrovascular as control group;then color ultrasonography was performed to observe their occurrence of atherosclerosis. And the lev-els of blood lipid, blood glucose and blood pressure of these two groups were detected at the same time. Results Among the 156 pa-tients in experiment group, 121 (77. 5%) had carotid atherosclerotic plaques and 16 (10. 2%) had carotid artery stenosis. Among 160 patients in control group, 56 (35. 0%) had carotid atherosclerotic and nobody had carotid artery stenosis. Logistic regression anal-ysis showed that the age (OR 1. 265 95%CI: 1. 106~1. 635), smoking (OR 1. 726 95%CI: 1. 369~2. 098), diabetes (OR 2. 069 95%CI: 1. 539~5. 298) were the independent risk factors of carotid atherosclerotic plaque. Compared with patients without carotid atherosclerotic plaque, the level of total cholesterol, low density lipoprotein and blood pressure of patients with carotid atherosclerotic plaque are obviously higher (P<0. 05). Conclusion Carotid atherosclerotic plaque is closely related to the occurrence of cerebral in-farction, and age, smoking and diabetes are the independent risk factors of carotid atherosclerotic plaque.
