Abstract:Objective To investigate the clinical features of testicular torsion, and to improve the level of diagnosis and treatment of testicular torsion. Methods 30 cases of testicular torsion patients were analyzed retrospectively and the literature was reviewed. 30 patients with testicular torsion were given detailed physical examination before operation, and parallel scrotal color doppler ultrasound imaging examination for blood flow. After the clear and definite diagnosis, those patients were given exploratory surgery. Results Of the 30 patients, 16 cases were left testicular torsion, while 14 cases were right. 13 cases retained their testis after the operation had relieved grappling and enabled blood to restore, as a consequence of short torsion time or not complete torsion. Of 7 cases with testicu-lar necrosis, 6 patients underwent excision operation, while 1 patient’s testis was required to retain. After 2 years’ postoperative fol-low-up, the patient’s testis showed obvious atrophy. Conclusion Testicular torsion misdiagnosis easily occurs, and has a high exci-sion rate. The early diagnosis is extremely important, among which the color doppler ultrasound examination is simple and convenient. It has a high clinical value to identify the testicular torsion. When the testicular torsion is highly clinical suspected, it should be given timely surgical exploration.
