Application Value of Sentinel Lymph Node Biopsy to Early Breast Cancer Before Breast Conserving Surgery

Abstract：Objective To analyze the application value of sentinel lymph node biopsy to early breast cancer before breast conser-ving surgery.Methods From August 2013 to August 2014, 100 patients with breast cancer treated in our hospital were selected.Ac-cording to different surgical methods, they were divided into two groups: control group and observation group.The control group un-derwent axillary lymph node dissection combined with early breast conserving surgery, while the observation group were given axillary lymph node dissection and preoperative sentinel lymph node biopsy combined with early breast conserving surgery.The incidence rate and recurrence rate of clinical complications in two groups were compared and analyzed.Results The incidence of postoperative com-plications in observation group was significantly lower than that of the control group, with significant difference (P<0.05).The post-operative recurrence rates of the two groups were not significantly different (P>0.05).Conclusion The application of sentinel lymph node to early breast cancer biopsy before breast conserving surgery is helpful to reducing the incidence of clinical complications and re-currence rate, and therefore, it is worth popularizing.
