Contrast of Curative Effect on Right Colon Cancer Between Complete Mesocolic Excision With Laparoscope and Conventional Operation

Abstract：Objective To observe and compare the curative effect between complete mesocolic excision with laparoscope and con-ventional operation in the treatment of right colon cancer.Methods 86 patients with right colon cancer who were admitted into our hospital were randomly divided into control group and observation group with 43 cases in each group.The control group was treated with conventional operation, namely median abdominal incision, while the observation group was given complete mesocolic excision with laparoscope, which was four-hole laparoscopic operation.The duration of surgery, blood loss during the operation, time to get out of bed for the first time after operation, duration of ventilation, length of hospital stay after operation, and life qualify of both groups were compared.During the 2-year regular follow-up given to all the patients, the number of the cases of local recurrence and survival was recorded.Results There was no statistical difference in the duration of surgery and blood loss during the operation between the two groups ( P>0.05) .The time to get out of bed for the first time after operation, the duration of ventilation and the length of hospital stay after operation of the observation group were all obviously shoter than those of the control group (P<0.01).After treatment, the score of life qualify index of the observation group was remarkably higher than that of the control group ( P<0.01 ) .The local recur-rence rate and survival rate of the control group during the 2-year follow-up were respectively 6.98% and 90.70%, the observation group 2.33%and 95.35%, with no statistical difference between both groups (P>0.05).Conclusion The complete mesocolic exci-sion with laparoscope has a definite curative effect in the treatment of right colon cancer with great safety and is worth of clinical appli-cation.
