Comparison of Diagnostic Value Between MRI and CT for Patients with Multiple Cerebral Infarction

Abstract:Objective To compare the diagnostic value of MRI and CT for patients with multiple cerebral infarction ( MCI ) . Methods 112 MCI patients who were treated in our hospital from January 2015 to September 2015 were chosen to undergo CT and MRI.The detection rates of these two inspection methods were compared in terms of different infarction time and different lesion sizes. Results The total detection rates of MRI for infarction at different onset time were much higher than those of CT, among which the detection rates for infarction with the onset time of <24 h and 24~72 h were both higher than those of CT , and the differences were both statistically significant (P<0.05).But the differences in detection rates for the infarction with the onset time of >72 h between MRI and CT were not statistically significant (P>0.05).The detection rate of MRI for infarction≤2 mm was much higher than that of CT ( P<0.05) , while the detection rate of MRI for infarction >2 mm was similar to that of CT, with no statistically significant difference (P>0.05).Conclusion The diagnostic value of MRI for MCI patients with early onset time (within 72 h) and small in-farction (<2 mm) was significantly superior to that of CT.
