Abstract:Objective To explore the clinical significance of the number of peripheral blood leucocytes and the changes of blood lipid metabolism in patients with polycystic ovary syndrome ( PCOS) .Methods 78 PCOS cases, being treated in our hospital from February 2013 to February 2014 without drug treatment, were randomly selected as the object of this study.Among them, 41 cases were selected as PCOS overweight group with the body mass index ( BMI ) ≥23 and 37 cases were selected as PCOS normal weight group with the body mass index ( BMI) <23.Meanwhile, 30 cases of non PCOS women, being treated in our hospital in the same pe-riod, were selected as the control group.3~4 mL fasting venous blood was exsanguinated from all patients in the menstrual period to detect the plasma C-reactive protein ( CRP) , blood routine and blood lipid metabolism indexes. Results The levels of triglyceride (TG), low density lipoprotein (LDL-C), apolipoprotein B (Apo-B), the total number of peripheral leukocytes, lymphocytes, neutrophils, monocytes, eosinophils, and CRP index of PCOS of overweight group were higher than those of the control group and the PCOS normal weight group, while the levels of high density lipoprotein ( HDL-C) and apolipoprotein A ( Apo-A) were lower than those of the other two groups. The differences showed statistical significance (P<0.05).The level of lymphocytes and CRP index of the PCOS normal weight group were higher than those of the control group. The differences showed statistical significance (P<0.05). Conclusion The Chronic inflammation is the main pathological manifestation of PCOS.Overweight PCOS patients showed an abnormal metabolism of blood lipids and a rise in leucocytes, while the normal weight PCOS patients mainly showed a rise in lymphocytes.
