The Expression and Clinical Significance of CD146 in Gastric Stromal Tumor Tissues

Abstract：Objective To investigate the CD146 expressions in gastric stromal tumor tissues and to explore its correlation with the clinic and pathological features.Methods The CD146 protein expressions in the gastric stromal tumor tissue ( TT) , the peritumoral tissue ( PT) and the stomach normal tissue ( NT) were detected by immunohistochemisty as well as the Western blot.And the CD146 mRNA expressions in the TT, PT and NT were detected by the reverse transcription PCR.Results The CD146 expressions in TT were significantly higher than those in NT and PT.The higher NIH grades of gastric stromal tumors, the higher level of CD146 expres-sions was.The expression level of CD146 was closely correlated with whether there was any invasion to mucosa.Conclusions CD146 has different expressions in TT, PT and NT.The increase of CD146 expressions may take part in the proliferation of gastric stromal tumor cells and the generation of blood vessel, and may play a crucial role in the invasion and metastasis of gastric stromal tumor cells.
