Abstract:Objective To explore the features and clinical significance of chest radiography and CT in people infected with Avian Influenza A H7N9. Methods Eight cases of confirmed human Avian Influenza H7N9 in this region were collected and their radio-graphic and CT images were analyzed to make the preliminary summary. Results Radiographic and CT images of the 8 patients who all had air bronchogram showed varying degrees of multiple consolidation and ( or) ground-glass opacity in multiple pulmonary lobes or segments. The number of lesions increased and the range expanded in 3 to 7 days. Pleural effusion was noticed in 5 cases. Mediastinal emphysema and right pneumothorax were detected in 1 case. Conclusion Multiple exudative lesions in multiple pulmonary lobes ( segments) and rapid disease progression within a week were main characteristics of chest radiography and CT of people infected with Avian Influenza A H7N9, which provides reliable help for the clinical diagnosis and treatment of this new disease.
