Abstract:Objective To investigate the anesthesia effect of ultrasound guided sciatic nerve block on operations on body parts below knees. Methods 66 cases of patients, who received operations on body parts below knees in our hospital from June 2013 to October 2014, were randomly divided into Group A (33 cases) and Group B (33 cases) . The two groups were both given 20 mL of 0. 375% levobupivacaine for combined femoral nerve block. Group A were given 15ml of 0. 375% levobupivacaine respectively to the tibial nerve and common peroneal nerve of the popliteal fossa to block: Group B were given 30 mL of 0. 375% levobupivacaine to the sciatic nerve of the popliteal fossa to block. Then the highest VAS scores, scores of satisfaction degree, intra-operative body move-ments in the two groups were observed and compared. Results (1) The highest VAS score of Group A was lower than that of Group B, and the score of satisfaction degree of Group A was higher than that of Group B, with statistically significant difference. (2) The incidence of body movement and respiratory inhibition rate of Group A were lower than those of Group B, with statistically significant difference. Conclusion Under the guidance of ultrasound, the combined anesthesia of both the tibial nerve and the common peroneal nerve proves to be clinically effective.
