Abstract:Objective To explore the effect of closed and open reduction gram needle fixation in the treatment of supracondylar fracture of humerus in children. Methods Clinical data of 71 children with humerus condyle fracture were retrospectively analyzed. The cases were divided into observation group (n=36) and control group (n=35) according to different treatment methods. Children in the control group were treated with open restoration gram fixed needle. In the observation group, children were treated with closed reduction gram needle fixation. The clinical efficacy, intraoperative blood loss and the incidence of postoperative complications were compared between the two groups. Results The Flynn elbow joint function score in the observation group was 86. 11% while that in the control group was 85. 71%, with no statistically significant difference ( P>0. 05 ) . Intraoperative blood loss in observation group was obviously less than that in the control group and the difference was statistically significant (P<0. 05), the incidence of postopera-tive complications in observation group was 22. 22% while that in the control group was 25. 71%, with no statistically significant difference (P>0. 05). Conclusion The effects of the two methods are similar, but the surgical trauma in the former is small, so it is worthy to be clinically recommended.
