Correlation Analysis between Ambulatory Pulse Pressure Index and Coronary Artery Lesions in Hypertension Patients

Abstract:Objective To investigate the relationship between ambulatory pulse pressure index ( PPI) and coronary artery lesions in hypertension patients. Methods A total of 226 hypertension patients in our hospital were selected and divided based on coronary angiography and severity of coronary stenosis into the case group (126 cases, coronary artery stenosis≥50%) and the control group (100 cases, coronary stenosis < 50%), pulse pressure index were measured by ambulatory blood pressure. Results PP and PPI of the case group were significantly higher than those of control group, with statistically significant difference ( P<0. 05 ) . With the in-crease of PPI, coronary artery lesion counts gradually increased, with statistically significant difference (P<0. 05). Spearman correla-tion analysis showed that, PPI was most significantly correlated with coronary artery lesions severity (r=0. 432, P<0. 05). Conclu-sion Hypertension ambulatory pulse pressure index is closely related to coronary artery stenosis and count, and PPI is helpful to re-flect the severity of coronary artery lesions.
